PLEASE NOTE: The advertiser is responsible for proofing electronic ads
BEFORE they’re submittted to Methow Valley News. If you send an EPS

or PDF file, we will be unable to make any corrections for you.

Media:

Digital ads may be submitted in the following ways:
• On a floppy disk, Zip disk or CD
• As an attached file via email to
ads@methowvalleynews.com

Files saved as a PDF usually transmit the best and large files (over 2MB) should be compressed as a self-extracting file before sending.

File Formats:

Methow Valley News can accept ads created in the following applications:

• Pagemaker • InDesign • Photoshop • Illustrator • PDF

Mac files are preferred, however, we can accomodate PC files if necessary. If you have files in another application or want specific instructions for submitting PC files, please call the Methow Valley News at (509) 997-7011.

Additional Requirements:

• A"hard copy" (print out) must accompany all ads submitted on disk.
• Unless you are sending a PDF file, all fonts (both printer and screen versions) and all graphic files must accompany your ad submission.

Resolution:

• Set black and white bitmap art (line art) to a resolution of 600 dpi.
• Set photos and grayscale images to a resolution of 300 dpi, adjusted to reflect a 20% dot gain.

Size:

All ads should be built to exact dimensions. The Methow Valley News publishes various publications with different ad sizes - please call Robin Doggett - or Callie Fink, 509.997.7011 if you have a question regarding size specifications.

News print:

Because most Methow Valley News publications are printed on newsprint, the use of extra-fine type, screens, reverses, and overprints is discouraged.

Simple, bold ads reproduce best.
