Deer whisperer

    Bicyclist Kurt Oakley finds himself the object of some interest by this young buck on a dirt road up the Chewuch River valley last week. Oakley said he had been up the road a couple of days before and had encountered the deer, which unabashedly started rubbing its antlers against another bicyclist. He said he was not aware of anything – aside from his natural animal magnetism – that would have driven the deer to get this close.
